A few weeks ago, Nicki Minaj and SZA were having an online spat. Today, it is another round with her longtime rival Cardi B. The reason for the resurgence of this beef is not clear to me, but sometime after stats for Cardi B’s first week of sales dropped, Nicki responded saying she was still the highest-selling female rapper of the decade.
Back in 2023, Nicki declared that the Barbz (her fans) can no longer “threaten people on her behalf,” on her Instagram story.
But on Oct 1st, after Cardi B alleged about Nicki’s infertility due to her alleged drug addiction and insinuated that her son Papa Bear was Non verbal due to the same Drug addiction, Nicki Minaj gave her fans a 15 minute greenlight to attack Cardi B.

It all came to a head when Cardi B penned an open letter to Nicki Minaj
In this letter, she says she will no longer be replying to Nicki minaj, and says that her behaviour has pushed people away from her except her husband (who is a sex offender).
My thoughts on this drama is that there are no winners and villians.
Watching all of this go down yesterday was like watching a terrible car crash, but being unable to do anything about it. When their children were brought to the forefront of this drama, All bets were off.
However, I believe that people should have standards no matter what is happening to them or around them. The behaviour from both of them have been one for the books.
Will I still listen to their music and enjoy their works of art? Hell Yeah!
I just need to separate the art from the artist.
