On Monday, 25th August, the Love Island reunion aired. By Wednesday, the winners have broken up.
In a post on her instagram story, Amaya explained that once the villa glow wore off, reality set in. “Bryan and I are no longer together,” she wrote. “After leaving the villa, it became very clear that we were on two different journeys. Our visions didn’t align and relationships are supposed to be a team sport… All love here and I truly wish him the best.”
Sounds peaceful enough, right? But the tea didn’t stop there. Around the same time, Amaya hinted that Bryan was the one who pulled the plug, and she didn’t hold back when fans started connecting dots. Under a TikTok calling Bryan out for being spotted in Miami clubs, Amaya dropped this gem: “Imagine being broken up with just to come on TikTok a couple hours later already in distraught to see that he’s in Miami… doing the exact things you told him hurts your feelings.”
And because she’s Amaya, she doubled down by reposting another video dragging Bryan’s “embarrassing” behavior and celebrating that his “true colors” were finally on display.
Bryan, for his part, posted a much more polished statement hours later on his Story. “Unfortunately, we were not on the same page and that is okay,” he wrote, keeping it vague. He said he was thankful for their time together and wished Amaya nothing but the best.
Fans, of course, had already clocked the unfollows on Instagram and Amaya’s not-so-subtle reposts about being “disappointed but not surprised.” Her TikTok likes basically screamed heartbreak recovery mode.
This all came right after the Love Island reunion special, where the couple insisted they were strong and even brushed off cheating rumors. Bryan admitted to a “lapse in judgement” when he was filmed out with other women, but swore it was work-related. Amaya backed him up then, telling Andy Cohen that she wouldn’t stay with a man who didn’t respect her. At the time, she was still insisting the relationship was “healthy and great.”
Clearly, things unraveled fast. Just weeks ago, Bryan was calling breakup rumors “lies” in fan page comments, and now here we are.
So, the Love Island season 7 love story that had fans rooting for a happy ending is officially over. Amaya seems hurt but firm in her decision to move forward, while Bryan is keeping it light and diplomatic. Either way, the papayas are getting their closure.
