Part 2 of Love is Blind UK Season 2 dropped on Wednesday, and I have finally gotten around to watching it. While watching this part, and seeing the way the cast members related with one another outside the pods, I wondered how I would feel if someone I loved and cared about disappered, then came back with a random stranger claiming that that was their fiancee, and they were marrying them in 21 days.
In all honesty, I would think that they joined a cult, and their minds were being held hostage in some weird way.
Well, thank God that it’s just Netflix and not a cult, so all should be fine.
Enough said, let’s get into the couples
Bardha & Jed

I love them, but I worry that their personalities would clash in the long run. When Bardha’s friend met Jed, and was grilling him, I understood her concerns because this is a person she has only just met. The entire interaction reminded me of this scene in Frozen.

Tell me you don’t see it. Also both Bardha’s friend and Jed’s mom share the same sentiment about arguments, because how can you marry someone you’ve not had an argument with yet? However Bardha claims that she’s not really an argumentative person which also makes me raise an eyebrow because married couples have arguments. It’s written alongside the laws of gravity. But let’s keep watching.
Familial pressures aside, I worry that their personalties might be an issue in the long run with Bardha’s independence and Jed’s traditional sense of masculinity. this is the main reason I want them to have conflicts, so I (and them) can see how they resolve their issues. But again, let’s keep watching.
Sarover and Kal

They were my top pick the last time but my confidence in them is failing. With Sarover’s apprehension about Kal meeting her family and Kal being a nervous wreck during the meeting. Don’t worry, I will explain.
He just kept making jokes after jokes about very weird things and I can almost pinpoint the point where Sarover’s well meaning sister’s soul left her body during the meeting. But, despite all of the ‘hiccups’ (to put it delicately), by the end of the meeting they had Sarover’s mom approving the relationship. On the other side, Kal’s brother doesn’t seem super enthused about the pair. During his confessional, he was asked if he believed that they would make it, he said, and I quote “If my life was on it? No”. Which is not something anyone wants to hear their brother say, but who can blame him? Certainly not me.
Meghan and Kieran

So far so good, this couple is actually the top of my list. In the pods, I didn’t appreciate how the situation with Sophie played out. But I think that this couple would actually work in real life. When he gifted her the flower arrangement, and she laughed, I thought that was weird because I thought it was really cute. But the internet unanimously agreed that it was hideous, so I don’t know what to think anymore. One thing I loved about this couple is the way they handle situations that could turn out to be an issue, like Meghan’s racy insta pictures and Sophie coming back during the mixer, which I will get into later. I also commend Kieran for going to talk to Sophie to clear the air like a mature person would. This couple has my vote whenever it is needed.
(I reserve the right to revoke my vote when the case arises.)
Billy & Ashleigh

This couple has a big problem, and it starts with the letter C. Before going on Love is Blind UK, Billy apparently told his father that all will be well as long as there was no Cabin Crew, in which case, he’d be back in a few weeks. Colour his dad (and me!) surprised when he came back with Ashleigh who is not just Cabin Crew, but a Manager???
I will play devil’s advocate for a second and say that in his defense, he had communicated it to her in the pods, and they had decided that they could work through it. But I think that he should have stood on business and maintained that it was a dealbreaker, because it’s already looking like he is developing cold feet about the whole arrangement (and they have not even resumed their jobs) and he is claiming that they should try it out for six months before committing to anything because he is only 50-50 on the marriage, as opposed to 100%. Which is a reasonable doubt to have, don’t get me wrong, but he already made his mind up about where he stood on Cabin Crew as a job for his future wife before going on the show, but he wasn’t strong enough in his beliefs, and now this is about to blow up in his face. I don’t even want to get into the whole food debacle, because what even was that?
Katisha and Javin

Katisha & Javin are just a dumpster fire that should be put out before there are other casualties involved. From Katisha’s indecisiveness in the pods, to Javin’s – for lack of better words – wandering eyes. Those two are a recipe for disaster. When everyone (not just the couples) from the show got together for the mixer, I kept cringing at the way he was acting. Because why did he ask why Sophie couldn’t sit in her dress, and she said unless everyone wanted to ‘see her vagina’, and he was rendered speechless? before calling her naughty. HUH? hUH? NAUGHTY??!!
The conversation Javin had with Demola also made me side-eye the both of them, because why did Demola say that Katisha not choosing him was a blessing in disguise. TO HER NEW MAN? Don’t get me wrong, it’s one thing to think of it, it’s an entirely different things to say it to her current partner nonetheless, who didn’t have the decency to say something in her defense.
Anyway, after the catastrophe that was the mixer, Jervin heads back out to “hang out” which Megan reports that he spent his time with the girls from the pop squad. She tells Katisha this and Katisha goes back to their apartment to pack her things and leave. Javin sees her and sort of placate her.
After he goes to God knows where, she writes him a letter and still leaves him which is the best thing she’s done this season in my opinion.
Honestly, I could write a whole thesis on this couple, but I’ll stop here. I’m just glad that whatever that was is over.
Sophie

I was really rooting for Sophie in the pods, but now let me just say wow, wow, wow. I mean because why did she comment on Kieran’s shirt to Meghan like that, and why was she entertaining Javin when his fiancée was right there. I will say in her defense, Jervin approached her, but still.
In all honesty, I think that if the contestants could see each other, she would have definitely left with a partner but I guess she’s in the wrong show.
Aanu & Patrick

First of all, Spleenic awareness aside, I understood why Patrick called off the relationship in the pods because he felt they had poor vibes. The vibes were off, she was not being serious with him as she probably should have been given the fact that they can’t see each other. Also in a last-ditch effort, he had asked her to sing for him and she just said no. She didn’t allude to the fact that she was actually going to write a special song for him which she did, but by then his mind had been made. His spleen had told him to end it. Honestly his resolve is amazing, she told him she had written a song for him and that didn’t help in convincing him? That would have worked on me I fear.
Billy should take lessons from Patrick. Learn to stand on business.
During the mixer, Aanu went off on Patrick which correct me if I’m wrong, was unwarranted. I didn’t see the reason for the crash out. But I always support women’s rights & wrongs so I am begging to be (respectfully) corrected.
Part 3 drops Aug 27 on Netflix, as always I will say some things. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Interesting review!
I don’t watch love island but this Commentry had me rooting for some of ghe couples and giving some of them criminal offensive side eye lol. Great work Ifeyinwa.
Interesting read! Seeing more platforms like sakla king link prioritize PAGCOR licensing is a good sign for player security. KYC verification seems thorough, which builds trust – crucial for online gaming! 🤔
