Tyler, the Creator just pulled a Tyler, again.

After casually hinting at something big all weekend (and dropping some fresh merch on Golf Wang Friday night), Tyler the Creator has officially surprised us with a brand-new album Don’t Tap the Glass early Monday morning. No drawn-out rollout, or big press tour, just vibes.
The album’s a tight 10-track listen, clocking in at 28 minutes and 30 seconds. And it’s packed. We’re talking songs like “Big Poe,” “Sucka Free,” “Stop Playing With Me,” and the chaotic-sounding “Don’t Tap That Glass/Tweakin’.” “Big Poe” even appears to feature Pharrell (yes, THE Pharrell Williams) and samples Busta Rhymes’ 2001 hit “Pass the Courvoisier Part II.” So yeah, it’s giving nostalgia, chaos, and creativity, all wrapped up in 28 minutes and 30 seconds.
Apparently, Tyler the Creator has been dropping Easter eggs this whole time. At his recent Brooklyn show, he had a camera zoomed in on a stack of records and if you looked closely, Don’t Tap the Glass was sitting right there in plain sight. Classic Tyler.
This new drop follows Chromakopia, which he also released with zero promo last year. That one had guest appearances from Doechii, Gambino, and Lil Wayne and came with a global tour, which, by the way, is still ongoing. Tyler just wrapped four nights in NYC and is heading to Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines next.

Anyway, Don’t Tap the Glass is out now, and I already know I’ll be running it back all week. Let me know your thoughts. I’m torn between “Stop Playing With Me” and “Tweakin’,” but that could change anytime soon.
