Love Island USA Season 7 Finale: My Thoughts

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!!

Love Island USA Season 7 has officially come to an end, and if you’re anything like me, you’re still processing everything. The chaos. The kisses. The questionable decisions. The not-so-shocking breakup right before the winners were announced. Honestly, if you blinked, you probably missed a scandal, a side-eye, and a pool that somehow remained mysteriously empty all season.

The Love Island USA Season 7 final four

Let’s start with the winners: Amaya and Bryan. From the moment Bryan stood up for Amaya, they gave what needed to be given — chemistry, communication, and actual emotional growth. And when Bryan pulled the $100K envelope, he didn’t even blink before saying, “Let’s split it.” In a show overflowing with plot twists and performative affection, that moment felt genuinely real. Amaya’s final speech? Whew. A love letter to every girl who’s ever felt misunderstood or told she’s too much. She said, “Don’t ever settle,” and I felt that in my chest.

But if you thought we were going to float smoothly to the finale, then you haven’t been watching this show long enough. Enter: Huda and Chris. They made it all the way to the final, only to break up during their final date. And I’m not even annoyed. Their relationship, for lack of a better words, was a recipe for disaster.

The constant Hudaruptions, (get it?), the lingering tensions. I’m just glad they had the foresight to end things. It was a Love Island first, and honestly? I’m still undecided on how I feel about it. Mostly because I think there were other couples more deserving of that final spot. But hey, that’s just me. Let me know what you think.

Now, about second place. Olandria and Nic. Cute, consistent, but not my winners. And to the Nicolandrians: I see you, I hear you. You’ve shipped them from day one. But the fact that it took Cierra leaving for them to suddenly “explore” each other? Feels a little… shady.

No shade, of course. We just have to wait and see.

Then we had Iris and Pepe in fourth. The same Pepe who was still pining after Hannah, turned down Andreinna’s advances, and then, the moment TJ got dumped, offered Iris a warm bed. A shoulder to cry on and lips to kiss? Who said that???The group chat was screaming. So awkward. So unnecessary. It was amazing.

The Impact

As always, Love Island USA Season 7 wasn’t without its mess. Not one, but two contestants were removed mid-season after old racial slurs resurfaced, and social media went crazy. It really makes you wonder,  is it still worth it? The show clearly needs to do some deep internal work.

From better casting and vetting to actually protecting the mental health of its Islanders, there’s a lot to unpack. And the fandom? needs to breathe. Not every awkward moment is a call to hate.

I probably won’t be tuning in next season. Between the tired drama, the obvious producer plots, and the random (mostly male) bombshells that never quite bomb… I think I’ve seen enough. That said, I will be watching the Season 6 spinoff, Beyond the Villa, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Love Island USA Season 7 is over and till the reunion (August 25 mark your calendars), I’ll be here rewatching Amaya’s final speech and wondering how every season manages to end up messier than the last.

Did your faves win? Were you rooting for Nic and Olandria?

Let’s discuss. Comments are open.
