Gertrude Initiative Gives Back To The Society Through ‘Back To School Campaign’

Gertrude Initiative, founded by Mrs Busola Adeyemo, is a community of volunteers who find passion in helping the impoverished children and communities in the country through the Back to School Gift Giving Project. This project started out in May 2015 with a small expedition to Oranmiyan Grammar School, Ile –Ife, Osun where the Gertrude Initiative team distributed school supplies to one fifty (150) school kids. The activity drew a lot of attention which led not only to the second but third installment of the project.

For the past three years (2015 – 2017), we take pride in our successful gift giving projects in the following areas:

Oranmiyan Grammar School, Ile –Ife, Osun , Community Grammar School, Laje, Ondo State, Jibowu Settlement, Ogun State, Wasimi  Ajegunle Community and Olotedo community Ogun State.

This year, with the cooperation and support from our volunteers and sponsors, we held the 3rd Back to School Gift Giving Project on September 16th, 2017 in 3 different communities (Jibowu Settlement, Wasimi Ajegunle Community and Baale Olotedo community) in  Ogun State. We distributed school supplies to One hundred and two (102) underprivileged school kids. The activity drew a lot of attention from other children in other neighboring communities which led to a huge successful activity of the project.
