The University of Missouri has officially stripped Bill Cosby of his honorary degree. According to the Associated Press, the university’s Board of Curators unanimously decided to snatch it back. The news comes almost a week after a mistrial was declared in Cosby’s sexual assault trial.
This is the first time the University of Missouri has ever revoked an honorary degree. President Mun Choi said the comedian’s alleged actions simply do not reflect the university’s values.
Sources say at least 25 other colleges and universities have also withdrawn honorary degrees from Mr. Cosby.
Was this the right move for the university?
