Texas Men Target Victims Using Gay Dating App Grindr

Times are really getting weirder and weirder by the day. Grindr, an app which is used for gay men to find other gay men in the area, may have a new representation. Four young men in Dallas have been using the app to conduct home invasions on strangers. 

Grindr used to target men and assault them

CNN reports, Anthony Shelton, 19, Nigel Garrett, 21, Chancler Encalade, 20, and Cameron Ajiduah, 18, thought it would be a good idea to lure gay men via Grindr then assault the victims in their homes. 

If found guilty, the men will be facing up to life in prison. The defendants have been charged on various counts, including conspiracy, kidnapping, hate crime, carjacking and possession of a firearm.

The hate crime distinction carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to CNN. 

As at 2021, the four men were sentenced to 23 years in prison after pleading guilty. the ringleader said he has no hate towards the gay community.

Yeah right, he just wanted to rob them and assault them. Let him cool down in prison
