Red Cross Workers Steal $6 Million Supposedly Set Aside For Ebola Treatment

International health care organization, Red Cross is reporting that some of their employees fraudulently defrauded the body of at least $6 million which was set aside to fight the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.  An investigation details how Red Cross handled over $124 million between 2014 and 2016 and discovered that $2.13 million disappeared in a plot between employees of the organization and employees at a Sierra Leonean bank to steal the money. ⠀

More investigation into the matter revealed that in Liberia ,the prices of relief items and payrolls were inflated to $2.7 million. Investigators in Guinea  also discovered that a customs clearance provider stole $1.17 million through fraudulent billing practices. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
